With the rising cost of asphalt pavement resurfacing, it seems that budgets are strained to the limit with no relief in sight. This is not necessarily so! This calculator will show you what can happen when you shift one mile or kilometer of resurfacing to eight, ten or more miles/kilometers of preservation with Reclamite® engineered emulsion rejuvenator. When you increase your pavement lifecycle and PCI (pavement condition index), you reduce the annual costs to own that pavement. In turn as annual cost is reduced, the same maintenance budget goes further. Try it! Instructions: This is how it works!

  1. To calculate your current "Cost per lane mile/km", you will use your total annual resurfacing budget amount (in dollars) and the current number of lane miles or kilometers you resurfaced.

  2. Calculate the lane miles/km that can be treated with Reclamite® for each lane mile/km of resurfacing cost diverted to preservation.

  3. Calculate the new life cycle cost for pavements preserved with Reclamite®

  4. Calculate the cost savings per lane mile/km and the total annual cost savings.

Reclamite® is a cationic emulsion of the four maltene components of an asphalt binder. The maltenes are the volatile components which are reduced by contact with air and heat. The application of Reclamite® replaces these original components which were lost to oxidation thereby restoring the asphalt binders flexibility and durability.
